John completed an internship at F.I.T. during the 2019-2020 academic year and joined the coaching staff in April 2020.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management with a Marketing focus from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) along with a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally,

John is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Prior to joining F.I.T., John was an intern with the UW-Madison Athletics program, working with the Badger basketball, hockey, and golf teams, along with the UW Spirit Squad. He has also coached powerlifters since 2016.

John currently competes in strongman, and has previously competed in powerlifting. He competed in USAPL Raw Nationals as a collegiate lifter in 2015, taking 3rd place in the 83-kilogram weight class within the collegiate division. At CWRU, John was a cheerleader from 2012-2016 and also served as the team’s assistant coach from 2014-2016. In high school, he competed in wrestling and swimming, along with working his way up to a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo.

He enjoys fantasy novels, video games, playing music on his guitar, and learning about strength sports history. He resides in Madison with his wife, Melyssa, who is a medical student at UW-Madison.
