Following an internship in the summer of 2014, Ben started part-time at F.I.T. before transitioning into a full-time role.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science with a concentration in strength and conditioning from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in May 2014. Ben is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Level 1 coach through USA Triathlon.
Born and raised in Madison, Wis., Ben has always been involved in team sports. It wasn’t until he found cycling and endurance sports that his desire to coach grew. Once Ben became competitive in the sport of triathlon, he found the need to help introduce strength training to complement endurance training for competitive and recreational athletes. He also enjoys working with baby boomers and adding longevity of life into their retirement account.
Ben is a competitive triathlete who has completed more than 30 races since 2009. He has finished Ironman Wisconsin three times (2010, 2012 and 2016).
When Ben isn’t coaching, he spends his time searching for the perfect bean to brew the perfect cup of espresso. He also loves finding new adventures and traveling with his fiancée, Summer, to national parks. Ben is an avid Star Wars and Green Bay Packers fan.
